Black grout

As above, i'm sure like me everybody hates the stuff, i was just wondering what opinions people have and which is the best/easiest to use both application and clean up. Personally i use bal micromax 2 and mapei ultra colour. I find the mapei the easiest to clean up but the bal the easiest to apply.

I used mapei 114 this week and was quite impressed with it. Just mixing small amounts at a time I found easy to apply and wipe off. And it stays black unlike some of the bal grouts I've used..

Think the secret is small amounts so you're not chasing yourself

Ardex fs was nice to use but still not as black as it claimed it would be. Black grout isnt scary as long as you take as much excess off as possible.

Exactly what I said to Andy when he asked in his post, I angle my float to nearly 90 degrees and it leaves tiles (smooth tiles) virtually free of grout.

I remove most excess as well, it's not scary at all it's just like throwing used engine oil all over a floor then cleaning it up. Catch the skirting or anything around you and it instantly stains. That's why i don't like it.

I spend some time masking up anything I dont want dying black. Bit of time spent before starting can save you alot of scrubbing later...lol
