Boiler Scrappage Scheme

Your boiler has to be 70% efficient or less. I checked mine (12 yr + Glow-Worm 60FF) on BG web site and it's 79% effiecient so is not elligeble for the Scrappage scheme. Browsing the figures it doesn't look like there are many that are

this scheme is to reduce the emmissions created by ineffeciant boilers

the government has to reduce co2 emmisions year on year to targets set by brussels

if they miss the target they have to pay hefty fines

but if they meet the targets they can claim back for the cost of the grants

hence the car scrappage scheme and now the boiler scheme

as the targets tighten more schemes will be set up and more boilers will fall into the catagory for replacement

there are grants available to have work done on your house that will reduce the amount of time your boiler runs, insulation , solar panels etc

Ok i vote all bathrooms/ showers need to be tanked and retiled every 5 years .....VOTE FOR ME :lol:

My boiler is 21 years old and needs replacing.
According to the web site its not one thats covered in the sceme
