Bolton BL3 advice on preparation and quote

Hi,

I have laid a new wood subfloor (caberfloor water resistant) and have some underfloor heating mat to go down and granite tiles to finish, but have conflicting instructions as the heating supplier said lay insulation boards then mat then tiles. but the tile box says lay on top of wbp. what are the benefits and or drawbacks of either method?
I hope thats clear and also if anyone can recommend a good tiler in the bolton area that would be great.
The room is empty and the area to tile is 2 sqm

Takes me back to my roots this one, i was born in sunny Bolton, on Osbourne Grove. It's a bit too far for me to travel though :lol:. Good luck and i'm sure you will find someone, there are loads of good tradesmen on here.

Hi & welcome to TF.
This has been mentioned many times on here so if you rummage through, I'm sure you'll find the answers your looking for.

I'll keep it short & sweet though. Tiling onto P5 is a no no. Especially with UFH. I'd be fixing an insulation board down with an SPF & screwed, lay your matting, cover with a SLC then tile with a SPF again.
