Bombarded with cold calls

hi all,i signed up to that site tps i think it was called regarding stopping these type of calls but over the last week or two i have been getitng bombarded with these calls sometimes up to 10 a day,not sure what the reason is but is there any way i can stop them ? swearing at them doesnt work lol

one guy actually called 6 times today after i told him no thanks.......wish i could get my hands on one of these litle weasels:veryangry:

Ask for the company name and address Jamie, tell them you will report them to TPS if they continue. That has worked for me in the past, I can't remember the last call I had of this nature.

Yes, I ask them for their name and telephone number to call them back, and then ask for their trading address and company number. They always ask why. I always tell them 'just for my records it is how we handle calls from potential suppliers of services' - they never give it me, and they hardly ever call back.

They know they shouldn't be doing it.

Are they foriegn, most of the cold callers I get are from India or the like. They wont care about TPS.

some have been foreign neale and some are from the uk

TPS takes about 28 days to come into effect, then you can complain to the TPS about any uk based cold callers... TPS do not cover international calls..

When you get a cold call , tell them your are TPS registered and ask to be removed from their register..


Out of interest, have you signed up to any sites on the net and left your contact details, this is where they get them as they pass these onto others..

i just hang the phone up, dont even bother to get into a conversation with them..

we got a cold call the other day on the home phone (we're on TPS) and the woman on the end of the phone said TPS didn't apply because she wasn't selling us anything. not sure how true that is.

sorry, just remember, she said she was from market research.

i'm registered with the tps and i had a call tonight off a man who sounded indian trying to sell me insurance for my satellite equipment, i didn't think of telling him i'm with the tps and i said i don't have sky anymore and the cheeky bugger slammed the phone down :yikes:, didn't even say goodbye...probably on to the next victim
