just got back from inflicting my very bad broken french on the french

had a lovely time, I enjoyed it even if they didnt:smilewinkgrin:

take no notice of their claims that they are out of recession, its all tosh

the price of food has gone so high that people are ordering food online from the uk supermarkets and having it flown in for collection from the airports

businesses that were thriving last year are gone and their premises are boarded up

loads of cheap property available, I had a look at a few in the 35k -50k bracket, all needed work as you would expect but you would end up with a large detached 3 bed with land in decent locations

but you will also struggle to find work over there

vat has been reduced from 19% to 5.5% to try and curb inflation

got some great deals from the closing down sales but its bad news for the french

in the dordogne, the area we were in is known a perigord and is a national park, its lovely but very run down

I spent a few weeks in the Dordogne when I was 14/15 really nice place from what I remember

Oh I think we are in a pretty dire situation but it would be par for the course if the French think they are OK.
Just wait till they all go back on the streets protesting again!
I'll stick to Greece to support their economy.

Hi Mike, welcome back buddy. My sister and her hubby spent a lot of time in France while they were stationed in Portugal. They generally loved the place and the people they met, although that might have been helped because they both speak French quite well.

I hope to go someday.
