border question

just wondering what the correct method of fixing a border is, as I have a trav one to insert in a job tomorrow.

I am curious as to whether I can fix above the border.

i done a trav border a month ago,was a thick one from ctd which was a different thickness from the tile...i tiled above it 1st then put my tiles under where it was going the following day ensuring tiles on both sides are flush with each other 1st as well...leaving a measured gap for the border as it was a mosaic border...filled the border gap with keraquik white as it has a long bucket life compared to other rapidsets ive used and made a dogs tail out a peice of baton basically cutting the depth of the border i needed and flushing the keraquik off to that depth and smoothing out so i could lay the border perfectly the following day..hope this helps

is that like a mini screed kilty with notches out of batten to slide along base tiles. If so that's how I do it too:santa_cheesy:

never heard the saying "dogs tail" for years,but thats the way i do a border mate,as its the way i was shown 30 years ago lol

Done that with plaster many moons ago
