I have fell a bit behind on a job as i had to sand down all walls cos paint was flaking the had to skim some of it with rapid set as it was way out. I spent a full day on the job today and only got 12 tiles on the wall....... Anyway when tiling with a boder can you tile above the border the same day or not? i would normally tile upto and including the border the first day then the top half of the room the next day. Just abit adive as i would like to get the border done and whatever i can above that 2morrow. thanks
Chris:thumbsup:

If the border is capable of supporting the weight then yes, but if it's a mosaic type etc then No!!! not normally.......

If it's a mosaic border I will do the lower tiles and do the border the same time so the border has time to set before I do the remaining tiles.

I did a bathroom last week with 600 x 300 porcelain plus a metal border. What I did to speed up the fix was to cut spacers the width of the border plus 6mm for the spacersout of MDF and used these to support the weight of the tiles. Later in the day when I was happy that the addy had gone off I went around and put the border in. There was no slippage and as the border was thinner than the feild tiles it was easier to make sure there was no lippage between the feild and border.

agree with dave and whitebeam but have done theyompers suggestion in the past. if you get desperate use rapid set on the borders!
