Brick Bond

Hi Everyone
I am about to lay some 600 x 600 basalt tiles on a bathroom floor.
Originally I was planning to use a brick pattern, but as these are square tiles I'm not sure what will look best.
Also I was planning on a 2mm grout joint...
I have had a closer look at the tiles now and there is a slight bow in some of them - maybe 1mm over their length - I know wonder if I should change my mind about the brick bond and also possibly about the 2mm joint?
Any recommendations / advice appreciated

hello
you can loose that 1mm if you open joints slightly, 3mm at least, also if you have wet saw you can make these tiles 300 x 600, and then lay them brick bond.

BS minimum grout joint is 3mm. Lay a few dry to see which you prefer. You might lose some of the lip by fixing them 1/3 bond.

had some tiles about 3 months ago 300x600 stated on the box do not lay brickbond
this is also being advised in my local tile giant on various makes and sizes of tile

This will be due to the warpage on the tile. Ive just done a load of 450x900 's and the box stated a max offset of one quarter of the tiles length. This is because the tiles had quite a pronounced curve in them so if you were to lay them full brick bond you would have quite a bit of lippage.
