Business Names

hi all.

After comng up with my new tiling name. i have done a search on business names and there is one other name the same as mine miles away from me but when i search on a common name like A1 tiling there are dozens of names all the same.

Does this mean i can still trade under my name

There is nothing to stop you trading under the same name as long as you are not trying to trade on the other business's reputation. Only restriction is if you were to become a limited company, you can not have a 2 limited companies with the same name.

is a limited company when you earn over 60 grand a year

you are getting mixed up with VAT registration, soon as your turnover start reaching the 65K mark you will have to go VAT registered.
A limited company is just when you register your business name with companies house and you become an employee of your own business, therefore your liability stops with what that business is worth, your personal liability is nil in case of some catastophic claim against you. Accontancy fees are a lot higher than a sole trader though
