C.I.S. invoice work

Does a contractor or another sub contractor have to run your invoices through the CIS system of payment?
If you only do occasional work for them or if a sub contractor rarely employs other tradesmen can they opt out of putting it through CIS or has every invoice done for a contractor got to go through CIS?.......just a thought???

Yes, any subcontract work will need to go through CIS.

As Chalker says all 'legit' work must run through it, it's the only way to sort out payment of tax

Just makes you wonder if the 'tax' deducted on some 'legit' jobs finds it's way to the correct place, if you know what I mean?

At the end of the day that's not your problem, if your ever investigated by hmrc your house will be in order and if somebody else has tried to mess about they'll get hammered
