Hello,
I'm new to this forum and fairly new to tiling and have been asked to quote on a job for an insurance company as a repair.

Basically a pipe has leaked being the wall and the plumber has angled ground the tiles of to get to it, obviously what's left of the tile needs to be removed and replaced!!! The customer didn't purchase the tiles and is unsure where they were bought from so finding aperfect match will be impossible, she has found some thing similar though in B and Q

My question is should I be quoting to the insurance company just to repair the 6 tiles that have been removed, or should it be a quote to re-tile the whole room (at least below the border to get a match)????

Sorry it's a long winded question but I really would appreciate any help!!!

Many thanks

Rich

The insurance company will determine how much they are willing put towards the cost of the repair. They may decide that it requires the 6 tiles whereas the customer may decide he wants all under the border replacing. I have just had a scenario like this where the insurance company would be giving the customer a certain amount, the customer wanted additional work that wouldn't be covered so the customer made up the difference. Make sure you know who is paying for what before you start.
