Just picked up a big job,10 ensuite bathroom floors at a decent rate however each floor has 18mm ply ,insulation board,heated mat,latex,ditra.The architect has now introduced to the spec a reinforced matting to be bedded onto the adhesive .Not only do i know it isnt needed ive never done it.Has anyone else?? Thanks in advance.

Will need to know what it is but with the products you are using above, i cannot see why anything else is required.

I know ive told them that,obviously i will do it if i have to but it sounds like a pain in the harris.

It is a bit of a pain, but i have used it before and it really holds the underfloor heating down a treat, so levelling it is much easier!but It can get messy laying the adhesive into it. Mapei do a re-enfrced mesh and Lilley Tile and stone will probably be best on price, otherwise go down your builders merchants and ask for a roll of fibre glass mesh, it costs about £58 plus VAT for 50 linear meters.
