Get your self a print out, lay out an area of the pattern dry and take some measurements and find the common measurements and use that to work it out it will give you a good start. What sort of area is it ?
So I think what @Localtiler is saying if its for instance 600x400 400x400 400x200 and 200x200 , 200 is the common number that each tile can be divided by so work to increments of 200 . Well thats how I do it if I got Andy wrong .

Another way which may help is to measure the room and relate that to the print out like this
