Doing a bathroom at the moment and looking at finishing in 2 days, HOWEVER i know the customer does not have enough tiles. When i measured up for the job i told them exacly how many they need but place they got the tiles from didn't have enough and won't have another stock for a few weeks. Am i right to just take my full payment on Thursday and let them phone me back when they have the tiles?
Large bathroom and i started today and aimed to finish late Thurday but will be an early finish Thursday as they won't have the tiles.

Bit of a quandary there mate,

They can't really expect you to work for a couple of days for nothing... I'm sure they wouldn't do it.. Don't know if you've charged as 'a job' or day rate,
me personally I'd take 50 to 60% of the job rate on thursday and the rest on completion.
Takin all the money now mightn't lead to any recommendations ,plus, when the other tiles arrive, if you've already been paid weeks before you'll feel as if you're workin for nothing:thumbsup:

Wouldn't have if i would have known. Done work for them before and when i got there it was a case of "put 10 boxes upstairs in bathroom rest are in the garage"
1 bloody box was in garage.

Well got there this morning and have blew my top. Agreed that the customer would be buying the silver trim for around the windows and that he was going to ply out the floor. Left a note this morning for me:

"soz didn't have time to ply out floor or get any trim, speak to you later"

Cheeky get had put the ply in the bathroom with a jigsaw next to it and a bag of screws.
Packed up and pissed off.
