Chestnut House in Liverpool produce yearplanners/wallplanners for the Honeyrose Foundation. They ask businesses to sponsor their calendars by buying advertising space on them. There is information you need to know if you are considering entering into a contract with them. This newspaper article (amongst others) appeared in the Daily Mirror last year, shortly after publishers Hamilton Forbes were closed in the public interest by the government…

If the link does not take you to the desired page please go to the Daily Mirror's website (www.mirror.co.uk), type HAMILTON FORBES in the search option and look at the story called CONMAN LYON BACK ON THE PROWL.

Please also not that the Honeyrose Foundation IS NOT a national charity for children, it is for adults in St. Helens Merseyside and they get just 5% of Chestnut House's profits

I work in the building industry and read about this on another fourm. My friend told me that they mainly contact members of the allied trades, so I thought this may include tillers. People need to be on the look out for this type of thing, the government are trying to put a stop to it, but unfortunatly some business owners are unaware and get caught up.

And the disgusting thing is the Honeyrose Foundation isn't even a charity for children, they send sick ADULTS over 40 on a special day out, and they only get 5% of Chestnut Houses profits. They don't help kids at all!
There's absolutly nothing wrong with adult charities, but the reps are at Chestnut House are saying it's for kids becuase they know that children pull at our heartstrings more.
It makes you wonder why the Honeyrose Foundation are letting Chestnut House drag their name through the mud.
I had cancer as a child and it really enrages me that these people are making money from it. Lets hope someone puts a stop to it soon.

Can i ask why you put this up on a tiling forum,?...
they rang me up offering to put an advert on these wall planners,in aid of charity of my choice! which will be despatched to around 5000 in my area, offer sounded too good to be true, when paperwork came the small print showed the scam, well not openly but people can be missled into having these,i rang them back & told them where to shove it!

Thanks for your replies guys. It might be an idea for those that have been contacted by Chestnut House to report your experiences to the DTI investigations branch in Manchester. My friend tells me they've been closing down firms like this one for a while. I'm sure they'd be interested to hear what they've told you about raising money for kids with cancer and the distrubution figures they've lied about.
I've also just noticed there are more complaints about them on another website http://www.blagger.com
