Cheap UFH?

Hi,

How do you know if a UFH system is some cheap stuff from china?

There are companies that sell mats with no "name", like floorheatingssolution.co.uk, and UFH-biz.co.uk, floorwarmers.co.uk.

I see UHeat sells Elkatra - with a life time guarantee, but so do the other webs sites there listed...

Also has anyone had any trouble with ThermoLAM?

if you did have any probs with some chinese imported ufh could you imagine the probs you will have trying to contact there "head office" also it's worth checking if this imported stuff has any bs standards to it,can you get hold of efficieny charts and power ratings etc....

oh and if you talk nicely 2 aaron he will come and overview your installation to make sure there is no probs!

There are only three or four decent underfloor heating brands in the UK and they're normally just re-branded for the 'online suppliers'. But there are quite a few independent suppliers importing their own.

You want to make sure you have a lifetime guarantee, and that you're buying a company you know is an established one, with an established brand.

Elektra hasn't changed in years, and Uheat is the online brand for it.

As an installer you need a decent quality cable that doesn't fight against you. And Elektra is certainly that. It has a decent thermostat controller, and a lifetime guarantee for the customers sake. But the main thing is it's priced fairly, for both trade and homeowner. That's why we went with them as a forum anyway.

Next underfloor heating job I do will be through Aaron.
Started with devi - went to thermonet - next Uheat! All good products and similar prices but its the warranty that i would want. I doubt if its worth the thought of a chinese failure to save a few pounds.

twista only ever fitted warm up but im sure u heat is as good you get what you pay for you need that guarantee and someone to contact in case of any probs

I've fitted many different brands, but UHeat is best for customer suppport, ease of install and performance. Definitely my preferred brand .
