I'm getting a bit worried now. This company paid me for the first job within 30 days as agreed. Then I did some changing rooms, 68m2 as I recall, had to go back because the batch number was wrong, and back twice after that because the floor fitters damaged the tiles. They promised me the cheque 2 weeks before x-mas, and all I kept getting after that was ' oh I'll chase it up for you' !

I've tried this week but obviously they are shut for the season. Do I wait another week, or striaght onto the phone monday? By then its over 3 weeks late! nearly 2 months after starting the job.

Never be afraid to chase money.

Got a cheque 2 days before Christmas and it only cleared today - hate cheques!

Typical p*ssf*rting around at Christmas time mate....:mad2:

You'll probably find you'll get it no bother when the firm get back to work - it's an old fashioned boring game they play over the shut-down.

I would get straight on the phone - they'll pay the one that shouts (not literally!) the most, first...

As Wingn says - never be afraid to ask for whats yours......

calm down company's are always slow and they cant keep promises if you annoy them will you hurt your chances of more work if not ring them theres nothing worse than waiting for money :8:

Know exactly what you mean Jay:thumbsup:, but at the same time it's a double edged sword in that a good tiler that reacts when the phone rings and gets on with it and leaves a good job is worth their weight in gold to a builder - so at times it's in their best interests t hang on to tradesmen and not huff them...:hurray:

I'm still owed £500 from a large company for work that was invoiced in March - just put it down to experience now. The money would come in handy though.
