hiya there hope somecan help. on my tiling course i was always taught to ply out but i have read elsewhere i can use a flex adh on chipboard tongue and grove. the floor is only about 3m2 and appears to be solid and as it is in a bathroom on a fairly new build house i am presuming it is waterproof. so if i can what adhesive/ primer should i use. also it is 300mm unpolished porcelain tiles

Hi stumac, there has been lots of discussion about this on a thread from GazLC81 (i think) called Ply or Not? have a look there and see if your questions are answered.

It's not advisable to tile onto chipboard as it tends to swell if you get any water ingression through the joints......but it can be done if you tile with fast flex and grout with epoxy grout to stop any ingression through the joints.....but if you ply or use backer boards then this is a much simpler and cheaper method...........dave..
