Hi there,
I am currently working on a job doing a slate floor. During the weekend the owner started painting in the room and splashed loads of emulsion paint on the 3 rows of slates I had down:furious3:
I had hoped this would come off easily with a scrubby pad, but it didn't.
I cleaned the rest and had hoped to seal the floor tomorrow and grout on thursday...
Any suggestions on how to easily remove this paint? Would Nitromors work maybe?
Ideally I would leave the paint for him to remove, but I take it that applying sealer over the paint is a very bad idea........
Any suggestions welcome
Thanks

would ask if they want me to remove then negotiate a price for starters but am hard as nails regarding extra work. removal with nitromorse probably won't work cos emulsions are usually water based so would try a heavy duty tile and grout cleaner and if necessary add some nanoscrub from aqua mix range or i also believe theres someats like abracadaba out there as well from ltp or lifothin

I agree with terry ref price for the extra work cos it aint your fault he splashed paint around. Nitromors not good as wont touch emulsion. abracadabra should work or if they are smooth tiles vanish soap and water and a scouring cloth might do it. Careful not to scratch the tiles though. Alternatively why not negotiate price for a restart of the job take em up and start again

Thanks for replies.
Cost is not an issue: I had agreed to do this job on an hourly rate so he will be paying for the extra time (which was a very good idea as initially he showed me an 'easy' porcelain tile he was going to get, but last minute changed to real slates.....). It is just VERY frustrating when you are put under so much pressure to get the job done and they then create a lot more work.....
I suppose I will use elbow grease and a stack of green scrubby pads so?! Will sugar soap help without damaging the slate?
The schedule of grouting on thursday has gone out of the window ..........
