Ok I have a telephone line for diamond pool finishers, but I want to start another company, so is it in your opinion s unprofessional to run a company from a mobile number ? as I am not sure how I can run two different business from the same place, thanks ?

i will get shot down for this but personaly i feel it will look unprofessional to run from just a mobile but saying that if you had your address on your cards it wouldn't matter as much

Get a VOIP phone you can use on your broadband. This has the benefit of being able to have any phone number you want attached to rather than a regional area code.

Don't think I've used my landline for years, the stigma has gone about gypos and mobiles ,I've never had a problem

I don't mind texting,I text quotes a lot or email.
I talk to the customers when I see the job and explain if I text or email I have it wrote down so when my 3 second goldfish memory kicks in I can usually find it on my phone

Well I have never been text ed for a job, we use emails a lot but I have now read a bit about voipfone now and I agree with DIamond tools. it seems the way forward for me Thanks Diamond.

We only use mobile phones for business in Norway. However, texting, they use a little, but not me. I have 2 pet hates in life, people scraping cutlery on their teeth at meal time, and texting. I deleted the message centre number from my phone to disable texts. It's a fad that got out of hand used by morons with no social skills.

Not sure Alan, the new venture has a different name, l suppose we would not know how to answer. Lol if they were on the same line.

Like andy said,it's a gypo thing,it was a stigma years ago that only gypos or cowboys used mobiles,cos you could just change number and move on.

Just a quickie, I see a few are moaning about texting but are emailing,what's the difference,apart from one uses a email address and one a number ?

I think you might be right Widler, but to older peeps who are probably more careful with their dealings it's just in them, that they don't trust traders who don't appear to have any fixed base. The reason I don't text much is I have a brick as my family call it, l also have pet hate of mobiles as you work, l believe you are there to work not play with your phone. But I agree with you that there is nothing wrong with text.
