Hi

I am planning to install a wetroom using Marmox showerlay, 20mm Marmox boards for the rest of the room and have a recessed shower screen (10mm, 1200 x 2000mm) with channel embedded between tiles.

My concern is whether the 20mm Marmox board is able to support the 60kg weight spread over this narrow 10mmx1200mm point-load?

Is there a chance that board may "give" when the screen is slotted in place...thus damaging the board's cement polymer mortar covering and thus the waterproofing integrity?

Many thanks in advance.

Think you would be better off mounting glass and channels on top of the tiles rather than recessing less chance of leaks, there will be other opinions but that is mine

As with jay but can't you strengthen the wall area where the channel is being fixed to? I.e. put wood in the studs or dabs of bonding there.
