consistency?

used BAL rapidset flexable for the first time tonight and started second-guessing myself when mixing it :uhoh2:
i use grout a bit sloppy (melted chocolate) but how would you describe the best consistency for adhesive?

Mix it to a consistency that when you get a trowel full it doesn't just slide straight back off..it needs to be wet but not sloppy...if you see what i mean....if you mix it to dry then you wont get a bond to the tiles......
