cordless grinder or not ???

Hi folks, anyone any input regarding cordless grinders ??? am considering one for quite a while now but am scared cos of price of DeValt. Makita and Hilti.

I borrowed one from a mate to see if I could get on with it.

No.....not for me, kept cutting out if you put too much load on it. Would be ok for soft tiles, but not porc.

Try Bosch, not overly expensive..

I use my 18v Makita with a montolit blade in it & I couldn't be without it.

Hilti for me, cuts anything, most power available on the market !

To be truthful I would'nt be paying that for any grinder cordless or not....

Could'nt you get a 110v for site work.....

have all the 110v tools but power not supplied on any 'Countryside' sites !!! so have to lug generator around everyday and then up and down stairs switching on and off all day..... alot of time wasted !!

I bought a makita 18 v li-on drill with 2 batteries and 20 min charger,then got a bare cordless grinder,all for just over £300.Get a decent blade for it and it will cut porcs.(not as quick as a wet cutter mind)Done quite a few cutts in 600 polished porcs today

I've got a cheapy Ryobi cordless grinder and it's great. Tile wise I only use it for small ceramics, most of the time I use it for mitres on metal trims.

thanks for the info..... am very keen on the hilti as the sales rep says he'll give 2yrs guarantee on grinder and batteries so i'll prob go for that one but i'll try get him to throw in a third battery )))

Nearly all my gear is hilti, best you can buy, you won't go wrong!

3 year guarantee for the tool but not for the battery i think. i got that with aeg 3yrs warranty for the tool but only 1 yr for battery so read small print. 4 out of 8 batteries died within 2 yrs.

Got the Makita 18v Li grinder with a CK850 blade. Very handy for just popping outside to do cuts in ceramics/porcs. Nice weight to it. Battery charger and spare battery is a must. Smaller than a wet cutter! I bought the bare unit for about £90. I already had the charger and 2 batteries from my drills.
