Went to view a job a view weeks back, a v v small toilet. The walls had a very thick render on them, something you would see on the outside of some houses, painted white (some of the bits stuck out almost 15mm). Horrible job, woman asked me if i could do anything with it as 6 tilers have said the job isn't worth it and nothing that can really be done. Took the job on and decided to knock off as much as the render as i could and plasterboard over it.
Today a boss of a large well known building firm in Manchester was at the house as they are in the process of building a very large extension. Took a look at the toilet and said:

"your having a laugh mate! i have sent 3 different tilers here who i give work to and all have said "nothing can be done, needs knocking back to the brickwork and re plastering then tiled (which would have been V expensive" need any work?"

Had a sit down with him and has given me 9 addresses of jobs that his company is currently doing/going to do and has asked me to take a look and price them up and get back to him.

took a look at 3 when i finished today and gave him a ring with prices "yup happy with that mate, can you start this one on such a day and this one on such a day?"

Well happy atm :)

Can I be so bold to ask, what was the difficulty.
