Hi
Got a small terracotta floor coming up, the tiles are 25mm thick. I was wondering wouldnt it be possible to cut them with a jigsaw? Has anyone ever done that?
It'd cause less dust and be quicker than using a manual saw.

cheers

this might sound crazy but i was told you can use a hand wood saw to cut terracota is this right? why you would want to i dont know just use the wet cutter eh:hurray:

Its not always convienient to use a wet cutter. Rip saws are supposed to be good to cut terracotta.
I was curious to know if it was possible to use a jigsaw, it'd be less dusty compared to a grinder as I can attach a hoover to the jigsaw!

Never tried it...only one way to find out miss T....give it a go...let us know how it goes...

i wouldnt use a jigsaw the blade will be knackered in no time i would use a wet cutter prefferably less dust or an angle grinder will cut them pretty easily but be prepared to turn orange
