Cutting Ufh Wire

Is it possible to cut, shorten and join the black bit of a ufh wire? Cheers

But they can be repaired so perhaps there's a chance somebody can do it. You'd need to perhaps check with the manufacturer. It's quite a specialist thing to get done if it is possible.

The design of the cable comes into play. Warmup can be repaired. So I assume theirs can perhaps be professionally cut.

What does Peter mean, the black bit?
Does he mean the actual element?
Warm up actually sell repair kits.
Connectors and shrink fit.

under no circumstances should you cut the ufh cable. technically it should be installed by a qualified electrician.

Is he talking about the cold tail? and not the mat itself? The mat wire is of course differently rated for its size so cant be cut , but dont the sparks cut tail to length if the socket is so close to the mat itself ?

spark found a warmup repair kit thankfully. Loose wire system was enough to do the entire ground floor lol. Cheers

You can cut or lengthen the cold tail.

I'm sure page one of the fitting instructions says 'do not cut the wire'.

Buy the correct size wire or mat.

Any guarantee will be null and void.

Sell your wrong size mat on ebay.

Yeah the OHMS for the cable is based on the length of it or something. If you halved it, you'd screw up the ohms it has or something something.

What has the manufacturer said?
