Seal the tiles with a impregnator..apply as many coats as it will take until it stops absorbing it.....then you will be ok.......dave
I would recommend this product......
MN Stainstop - 1L
A spirit based, Silicon impregnator that penetrates into the surface of stone and forms an invisible film within the pores and capillaries.
Prevents staining from water, dirt and oil, allowing the stone to breathe, and aids maintenance. For use on all polished and unpolished natural and artificial stone.
Tip for application.....
On porous stones it is normal to apply one light coat prior to grouting.
Apply the main coat after grouting. Again, make sure the stone is clean and dry.
To get the correct coverage use this rule of thumb. Apply enough product, direct from the can, to keep any stone wet for approximately 10-20 minutes. If you apply a thin coat and it soaks in within this period then you should immediately apply more. Porous stones will force you to apply enough product as the product will soak in more quickly. Less porous stones will require less product to keep the surface wet for 10-20 minutes.
Apply gently so as not to cause foaming.
After 30 or 40 minutes wipe away any remianing puddles (or "foam" if you have been a little vigorous with the application!).
nice looking stone though..
