Decking

Does anyone know about decking? My daughter lives in Germany and wants to create a decking Patio outside the front of her restaurant. The area is 4 metres wide x 15 metres long. The wood is available in 3,4 & 5 metre lengths x 250mm wide. So I am assuming she needs the 4 metre lengths and will need 60 lengths in total plus a couple of spares.

Can anyone add or advise me further. i.e. anything I haven't thought of and what is the normal thickness or measurements of cross beams it gets attached to

I did my own last year. As i usually do, i went over the top with the sub joists as i wanted a good solid decking. So i put more joists than was actually required. It was half on a concrete base and half over a void onto a small wall i built for support. I really enjoyed building it just wish i had teh time and we had the weather to sit out there.
I got lots of info from here, There also a mention of decking for commercial properties.
