Anyway I wondered if someone like the oracle of all tiling knowledge that is DH Ceramics could help me compile a cutting, adhesive and grout list for different materials, for example
TILE CUTTER ADHESIVE GROUT

OOps got stuck there DH to the resuce.......

The only reason I ask is up to now I have only used ceramic tiles but I am sure it won't be long untill I get variation in my jobs.

It dosn't take Einstien to work out which cutter is needed for different materials, if you cant snap it with dry cutter, you will need wet saw. And for choices of adhesives and grouts, well start with wall adhesive for walls and floor adhesives for floors. A list you are after for chioce of materials for each product is impossible, it depends on many variances, which surfaces is it going onto, does adhesive need to be white or grey(opaque marble grey would discolour tiles),are they porus like limestone/terracotta, or non porus like porcelain, are they small tiles or large format. Does the adhesive need to be flexible because of surface it is going onto,or flexible or with porcel plus bond to stick to the tiles as with porcelain. Also with grout, wall grout fine powder for smaller joints, or wide joint grout for flooring, again flexible because of substrate or because it needs to stick to the side of tile as with porcelain.....I think you must use common sense and consult the forum with your scenarios , which will give you a better knowledge of what to use and why......Gaz
