If your room is out of square you can square it up using the diamond pattern with a border. Keep all your diamond cuts the same and cut your border to suit.

If your walls are just a little out of square the border can be smaller, but if the room is really out of whack then the border needs to be made bigger so that the difference is not obvious.
The eye is not able to see it if it doesn't have a line right beside it.
