Different mosaic thicknesses

Hi, i want to tile a section of wall using a mixture of new and antique tiles/mosaics (unused). However i find that the tiles are of different thicknesses. How do i compensate for this? I was going to stick my selection of tiles onto a mesh backing first, as to lay them individually would be a pain (i think). Tiles are 5x5cm.

Actually, I don't think i was clear enough....i call all the tiles "mosaic" as they are small, so what i have is a selection of different thickness small tiles (5x5) that i want to stick on a wall

I am afraid that if the tiles are all different in thickness then you could only fix them one by one, Start with the thickest tile first and build the others to that. You will need cement based adhesive.

sadly, i was afraid of this....couldn't I just stick matchsticks behind the low ones as I glue them to the mesh? Or.....Mesh the bigger ones, leaving gaps for the thinner ones and then butter those separately and stick them down flush when i put the whole lot on the wall?

put mosaic face down on flat surface between two batterns the same as the space they need to go in to when happy they are correct . then use apoxey resin on the back to set the boarder stiff wait for glue goes off then set in wall make sure you dont push the glue to far in to grout joints you may need to build this up in a few layers to take out the diffrent thicknesses

You could try , not something I have ever done though.
