I thought a thread about traders discounts would be a handy one, especially for those travelling out of their normal area.

Please add to this list if you think there's somewhere your fellow tilers should be registered.

So, there's Topps Tiles for tiles, adhesives and grouts and things but they don't give discount on laminate flooring and the likes. Topps Tiles Plc | Britain's biggest tile and wood flooring specialist

Laminate flooring (almost related, maybe a few of you fit the stuff) can be cheap from IDS (international decorative surfaces) which is a distributor for quickstep and many others, they also do kitchen worktops at a mega discounted price. International Decorative Surfaces for more info.

There's Advanced Floor Heating for underfloor heating and Trade Tiler for pretty much any tile related tool that both supply to the trade at a discounted rate. Links can be clicked on at the top of this website.

Things you usually need when setting up a trade account:-

• Letter Headed Paper displaying your company contact details.
• Trade reference x 2 usually. This is from an existing company supplying you, this just identifies you ARE a company as this reference or invoice from another company has your company details on it and not just your name.

Things you usually need when setting up a credit account:-

• Letter headed paper
• Bank account details (in company name)
• 2 x References. These may differ from the above as this time the company that is going to offer you credit will have their own form they fax off to your references which they then need to fill in and send back.

A credit account will sometimes start with a low figure that's safe for both parties but as business and time goes on and you build up a reputation for paying on time etc etc then your amount will increase, never enough to leave the country though I've found. haha.
