DIYer needs advice

I'm doing my bathroom Floor 12'x10' already stripped out the floorboards. is it ok to lay 18mm ply straight onto joists and if so, do i need to prime this ply with anything b4 tiling. and is therte any special adhesive I should use.

While the joists are showing it would be a good idea to add some strength by placings extra noggins in betweeen the joists.
Ply should be WBP ply of good standard, not the cheap rubbish that is flooding the market at the moment.
The ply should be primed on the back and edges and then screwed every 200mm along joists and noggins.
Personally I would then overlay with a tile backer board of 6mm depth and use single part flexible adhesive for the fixing of the tiles. then grouted with a suitable flexible grout..ie Mapei.

[Aspect Tiling]

Spot on advice there, as Sir Ramic says, overlay with 6mm backer board. This gives you a more suitable surface to tile on. You can't go wrong with Mapei products, their primer is called 'Primer G'.
