LOL everyone! I'm glad I'm not alone.

When we were first married, Christina would feign interest as I looked around and pointed things out.

Then she started tolerating it with a roll of the eyes.

Now she and my daughter just give a disgusted remark and go off on their own while I do my looking and I keep my analysis to myself.

But I am always testing my employees.....I'll point at something and say "What can you tell me about that?" They have learned a lot because they will generally pick up on what I have noticed and sometimes see things I didn't.

Because they are both painters and plasters they are usually talking about the paint selection and the drywall finishing or the plaster.

I used to be a plastic injection mould toolmaker. Used to drive my wife up the wall pointing out plastic things I had made the mould for. Came to a head when she was looking at a dress in a shop and I was pointing out the finer features of the coathanger!!!

That's a good one John.

I have a long-time customer that is an attorney, and she has had enough work done in her house that she has learned quite a bit from us about proper tile work and other construction related bits.

She told me a few years ago she was at the office Christmas party and a few of the attorneys were talking to one of the other attorneys about the problems she was having with her contractor and the kitchen and bath remodel. So my customer piped in with the info that related to the other attorney's job (stuff that she had learned from us) and she said it quickly became this huge huddle of attorneys talking about expansion joints, mud beds and waterproofing.

My customer said that a Christmas party couldn't stop these eggheads from talking about all the legal crap in the office but for some reason when she was talking about how to set tile correctly they all stopped what they were doing and came over to listen.

Can you imagine this picture? 15 attorneys huddling around listening to another attorney talk about her kitchen floor and what I did to install UFH? LOL

same as rob z my marriage is at about the same level, the whole family "say hear we go"
i like the bit about your employees there is nothing like a captive audience:lol:

I often find myself wandering around supermarkets, looking at tiled floors, thinking I would'nt have done it like that,(sad eh?) even worse , in gents rest room, casting a critical eye over wall tiles, and not concentrating on what i'm there for.

SNAP - I'am pleased that most wc. are now using laminated panels so I can concentrate.
Dual purpose petrol stations seem the worst to me - the number of badly tiled shop floors - and they all seem to be on top of suspended floors!
