Do you specialize in one type of tiling

Does any one specialise in just one type of tiling? wheather it be in just stone or just geometric tiles etc?
when i lived in guernsey all i did was tiling with stone, i moved back to devon and tried to specialise in just this area and found that i had to do all tiling which is what i still do!

can't afford to specialize in any one type of tiling up here pal there's that much choice now adaze anything could turn up, thats why i've had to spend a fortune on differant cutters and tools to fix them! not like the old days 6" white or cream, what happened to them days ? ha ha

used to twenty years ago mainly fix terraccota and slate and and now days just tile shop floors 60x60 porcelain but have herd rumors that i my have some toilet walls coming up other than my own bathrooms only tiled one bathroom in ten years

Thats not happening on recent work I've seen. I mostly do domestic but where can I find these things out ?

I'm with you on this kid, 1200mmx600mm can't get a stack of those under your chin, like the old 6"x6". I must admit though I prefare a challenge. Rather than bog standard jobs. But as you say beggers can't be choosers.

yes 95% mosaic fixing for me, and i love the stuff can't get enough, all the typs ,colours, makes, it's a whole world on it's own :hurray:

I do all types and styles,stones all the way through porcelains to the ceramics and mosaics.
I do diamond set,herringbones and all the rest and mostly all domestic work now.
I seem to get full houses too all the time,i love it when i get a single floor somewhere or a bathroom:drool5:.lol.

as a matter of interest gooner69 where did you learn mosaic fixing it's the only aspect of tiling i struggle with (because ive never been taught).cherrs.kev

a very long time ago, i whent to work for a company and train as a pool/plasterer marbiliting pools, if you look on you-tube under pool plastering you will see what i used to do, but as only a two man gang, there pussies now!!! and times that we were not doing this work ,we were sent with ITALIAN'S to mosaic tile pools,being young fit lads,i always worked with a guy called TONY MINOLE a ****ny ITALIAN and a top man!! and from him over several years :lol:
