looked at a floor to day the oversite has been down a couple of months and a 2 inch sand and cement screed is going on top in the next few days the customer wants it tiled a.s.p ive said 6/7 weeks do you think it could be done sooner if the warm weather continues the builder says hes putting fibers in the mix dose this make any difference with the drying times? its about 25m2

thanks dave think there a bit to tight to splash out on bal green screed do mapie do a cheaper version?

You've been advised the correct way and that should be relayed to the customer.
Its then their decision to go with the small additional cost or wait!
Using any other adhesive not recommended for green screed will have a tendency to come back and bite your

This thread has set off a few alarm bells for me - perhaps unnecessarily. I have to replace some areas of failed screed before tiling. I was going to give the areas a week. They are hopefully smallish areas and are 40mm thick at a guess.

20 years ago I replaced some screed in a sitting room (an area possibly 800mm x 1500mm) and probably tiled over within the week. No problems yet. Was I luck or is it simply that as the areas were relatively small so was the shrinkage.
