Hi

Can Uheat confirm if

1) is it ok for me to use 100W matting on 25mm plywood without insulator? I was told that anything more than 100W will need insulator is that right?

2) What kind of adhesive would u recommend for ceramic tile on top of ply with the UFH in between?

100w is ideal for timber floors......

Iye, I have installed their 100W onto ply as the client insisted they didnt want their floor raised any more (they already had the ply down and didnt want to lift it)

Cover the UFH with SLC, self levelling compound, one suitable for UFH and ply ie flexible. Use a flexi adhesive and grout as well suitable with the above. Speak to a good tile store they will help you out.

Yep, I can confirm that 100W is suitable for installation on PLY, so follow davy_G's advice and use flexible SLC, adhesive & grout.

I've already bought this adhesive with the following spec..
Is this suitable for ceramic on plywood with UFH?
If not, I'll return this and get a new one, what do people normally use?

u need to use the slc first lay it over the ufh mat let it set then use the tile adhesive to fix your tiles , personally i wouldnt use readymix for floors i would always us a flexible cement adhesive , slc will level your floor and adhere your ufh mat to the ply so u have a nice flat area to tile rather than having your floor raised where the mat is installed
