Hi All,
Need some advice please. Going out tommorow to give an estimate for a kitchen floor.
24sq metre. chipboard floor so will need to overlay with ply. 333 x 333 ceramic tiles.
How much should i be charging? and roughly how long will it take? only one threshold.
i know that tilers in different parts of the country charge different rates. But advice would be greatly appreciated. I am working in Southampton.
Thanks for all replies in advance.
Regards
John

Firstly a few things to consider will you be supplying
the ply? screws? adhesive? grout?

Time to ply it out possible day rate somthing which you would be happy working for.
Usually between £120 & £150

then coming onto the tiling it self 24 sq mtrs would you be happy with between £20sq mtr total amount£480 or £25sq mtr total amount £600

But taking in considertation that you may want to go in a little cheaper due to securing the job i would say around around £650 all in if it was me

Working on the fact that Aquarius seems new to the game as he/she is asking this type of question i would have allowed a day to lay the ply for them and 2 days, maybe 2 1/2 days for job time. So thats 3 1/2 days estimated. Not knowing their capabilities its hard to judge.

I havent used Ply for a while so i dont know the price and Aquaris didnt say what adhesive and grouts they would be using.
Using Bisem fast flex at about £36 per unit at a coverage of 5m2 is £172.80 then grout to be added. You are fast approaching the £200 mark.
you still have the Ply and screws to pay for.
If i estimated a 2400 x 1200 sheet of 15/18mm ply at £26 (Sorry only price i could find at short notice B&Q) you would need almost 9 sheets, 9 x £26= £234

So thats £434 in materials so far. My prices may be off, well its early in the morning and rushing breakfast.
