Good shout Prem, I have been watching it mate, it makes you think about how lucky we are.
We have the emergency services, the police, the ambulance service, the fire brigade
and the coastguard, we also have our great armed services. No matter what your thoughts are regarding the rights and wrongs of war, these people do a job that protects us and our children. When we go out enjoying Christmas there are many invisible people standing by to ensure our safety, there are men and women that put their lives in danger all the time to look after us, the public.
Its easy to take them for granted when you do not need them, but press those three 9's and they turn up regardless of race, religion and politics.
The armed forces that are away in foreign countries are not fighting in your name or mine, they are there for the UK, they chose their profession and it would be wrong to tell them otherwise, its their job, its what they do, its what they want to do.
I for one have a very healthy regard for these people, I admire their strength and integrity.
If you have loved ones serving in our emergency services or in our armed forces then I thank you for bringing them into this world, your sons and daughters do a great service that is not recognized enough, for those who have fallen we are forever in your debt
To any of the 4 emergency services reading this, to our armed services and all of your families we truly are in your debt, yours could be the greatest sacrifice and we cant and wont forget that.
Its easy to think like I do when Christmas is here, the drink sometimes brings out your innermost feelings, its easy to forget just how lucky we are.
We all have lost friends and family, its hard and difficult and it brings the toughest man to his knees but lets have a few moments of reflection for the people that are killed in action, in service or killed by some mindless thug.
We are still here, we are the lucky ones, we have our families and loved ones around us, this is the time of year to be happy and glad to be alive.
I wish everyone that reads this a truly happy and magical Christmas and new year.
