Ebay, you either love it or hate it ! I must admit I use it a lot, sometimes not to buy but to check out what is out there. Anyway I have been in the market for an item for a while now and started watching the prices this item was being sold for.
Ther is a seller on there with up to 8 of these items at a time on Ebay. Most are auctions but he also has a "buy it now" price.
So after watching what they sold for I had an idea of my max bid, which to be honest was lower that I thought but he had sold for even lower. So should I win at these budgeted price of mine I would be happy. A week went by and then I started to place my bids...I lost the 1st 4 auctions, some times buy a lot and sometimes by a few £. It was annoying to lose by a few £ but I stuck to my max bid. Last week actually won the auction and less than my max bid so that was a result.
Since then I have stiil been keeping an eye on the items and watching what they go for.....since my winning bid, they have sold for up to 100% more than I have paid....thats why I am feeling rather smug.....Of course time will tell if the item lives up to expectation.
But it really makes me wonder what some people are thinking of when using Ebay as someone recently has won an auction but paid more ( a considerable amount more ) than the sellers buy it now price on a similar item ???? i think people get so involved and treat it as a win at all costs game !

neale a while ago i had a huge amount of brand new fishing gear fro sale on ebay and some items were selling for more than they were actually rrp in the shops lol

once they get involved in that bidding war some dont stop lol

Crazy isnt it ? I know a few people who make a living selling on Ebay. When I say make a living I mean real wages.....I must say though they do have loads of rubbish they cant sell in storage.
