filing hole in tiles for kitchen waste?

Hi all,

Got a hole in the tiled floor where the kitchen waste comes up, however now kitchen going in, want to make sure there's no gaps around it where mice can come up! Not visible (ie will be in sink unit, so doesn't need to be super pretty etc)

Any ideas on best way to seal the gap? Is this just an expanding foam job or is there any cleverer solutions?

concrete ? rapid set ? expanding foam ? choose your weapon...personally I'd go down the concrete route

No. There is a reason for broken glass mice will not dig thru that.

If this is a kitchen waste going outside horizontally the surely it will push the glass out. Also will you not 2ant a mortar finish on the outside?

or is the waste coming up through a wooden floor ??

correct Martyn, coming through the floor - basically just mulling the right balance of solid/mice proof whilst not making it too 'concrete' in case plumber ever needed to change pipes etc. Think I'm leaning expanding foam way at the moment - although embedding broken glass, nails, poison, cluster bombs and sarin canisters as per Lizzardtong's suggestion is an interesting idea....

what about a pipe shroud siliconed to floor?

it's like a washer, hole is same diameter as your pipe.
