You know the old completely tilied fire place surrounds from the seventys well i started to re tile one today firstly i had to knock the old tiles off and takeout the fire, the concrete mantly piece fell to pieces so i had to replace it with a wooden one looks better anyway and the customer is more than happy with the wood on top just got to tile the git tomorrow and screen it with rapid set..-🙁
 
Post up some pics mate when it's done,

I like the tiled fireplaces, wouldnt look right in the modern house were in at the moment, but the house were moving to is victorian style and much more traditional with open coal fireplaces.
 
Did one recently for a relative who then decided to sell,house sale went through no problem but the couple that bought it said that they were going to remove the old fireplace in put in a modern one as it looked very old fashioned.I do hope that they meant the surround and not my workmanship
