Fired Earth

Hi guys just a quick one, Got a job coming up, a bathroom floor to be done in Venetian Stone by fired earth, now i know they will need to be sealed, just wondering as i hav'nt used them before what they cut like? Anyone used them? is it possible to cut them on my rubi? or a machine jobby? got to price accordingly. cheers fellas

They cut real easy on a wet cut machine, use white flexible adhesive and flexible grout. And they are very porous so they will need a few coats of sealent, and at £15.00 per tile be careful with them...😳when cutting.

Venetian stone....it is a marble...usually tumbled from fired earth...

Cuts really easy on a wet saw.....

You will need white cement based adhesive suitable for the substrate....

Grout first then seal afterwards...As long as you grout in smal area's and wash as you go then it will be ok...if you seal first then the sealer does not take to the holes and pitted area's and will come back out...

make sure the are clean and dry before sealing....I recommend lithofin stainstop....but the fired earth sealers are ok....always read the instructions on the sealer....

Depending upon what finish the customer wants...a colour intensifier works well with those tiles...

When fixinf these tiles give them a light back skim to get good adhesion to your adhesive bed..as the backs can be dusty and heavily pitted..( holes )..
