Fireplace -slate question

Hi Guys
Got to lay some 1/2 inch slate in a fire place what is the best adhesive and grout to use and what sealer should i use also going on to concrete floor so do i seal that with Bal APD sealer only 4 tiles going down mind you regards Edd.

just use flexi rapid and flexi grout...use an impregnating sealer not a surface sealer as it might peel with the heat........dave...

Yeah slap a bit of Bal APD down to be on the safe side.

Use rapid set flexi with and wide joint grout with Bal GT1 admix in both.

should you mix gt1 with an already flexible adhesive?

Gt1 is a grout admix not an adhesive one..bal admix ad1 if for adhesives but if its modified already it will be ok.....dave...

Would grey grout be the best colour to use .

just to clear up... you can't use GT1 as an additive with a rapid set adhesive? I was sold it to use with bal rapid set to make it flexible!!!! was told it would be ok even though its for grout!!

I know pva is no good for walls but i have read that you can pva the floors before setting tiles on concrete floors would this be ok.

pva,s lie on the surface and only breaks down when in contact with adhesive..primers are impregnating sealers thus soak right into sub-strates...........
