Fireproof chipboard

I got asked to price a kitchen splashy and when I viewed I realised that the area above the cooker was finished with fireproof chipboard. I told the customer that I would not tile it and it will need to be replaced. Customer was not best pleased as his kitchen fitter had specified and charged royally for it.

What's your opinions guys? Would you have tiled it?

never heard of it only fireproof plasterboard which is pink which is great to tile on

Deffo not plasterboard and customer said that he had been told it was fp chipboard?!?

Is someone pulling his chain and given him bog standard chipboard :lol:?
