first job

hey everyone about to start ma first job and it had to be mosiacs!!!but its just a simple splashback in the kitchen nothing to much in the way of cuts/corners but just wantin some advice on what adhesives to use and any other wee handy hints anybody can give me thanks the almansa

Hi mate, fresh out of PTS I bet you only have a 6mm and 10mm trowel. First of all if you are doing mosaics, get a smaller notch trowel! Second, TAKE YOUR TIME. Third use you grout float to press tiles into your adhesive (assuming they are on a sheet - what size mosaic?). Would use BAL White Star myself for addy though they do Mosaic-fix specially for this type of job, and BAL Microflex grout for kitchens.

Try to avoid small cuts around the edges if possible and only use the wet cutter where you can't avoid it - tiles come loose from the sheets!

CLEAN AS YOU GO ALONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

am getin a smaller one fom kwiksplit but your right on the trowel front its a friends house so theres no time limit!!!lookin at past threads hink your spot on with the white star!!dont know what size they are she has no picked them yet!!!

Main bit of advise I can think of giving for tiling mosaics is watch adhesive amounts, excess will seep through the mosaic netting and fill up your grout lines fast, so just keep an eye out for that.

Also depending on mosaic tile size, there are a lot of grout lines and they will eat up a large amount of it, work cleanly.

done some last week bought a 3mm trowel used float to push on gently had no probs my first go with mosaics looked good goodluck rossy...
