First Muay Thai bout.

My little nephew had his first Muay Thai bout and won... He is only 5 yrs old and looks like he is going to be good at this sport... pushing forward like he did shows he is keen and not scared of getting hit back.


He is the one in the blue shorts...

Lewis has a good right roundhouse there Dave. Good on him brave young heart. Another Bill (superfoot) Wallace (Karate legend) in the making, best form of defence is attack.

he won that easily and he has got the basics in his tool kit there Dave he has got a good stance and moves well and comes back nicely in to his stance once he has thrown his kick i am guessing they cant knee at his age but it was good to see him going for the neck grab and throwing once he had it in place very impressive

He has only been training 3 months as well ... he is a natural..

yes , they limit types of attack at early ages , hence no head punches etc..

Straight in with his right foot!
Typical attack in the old coalfields of the north east and often referred to as the Durham poke. It keeps the opponent at a distance and allows a panther like stance in anticipation of the kill ( an analogy only in literal terms) .
At this stage my grandson would probably be on his 2nd box of Kleenex as he articulates the benefits of discussion over confrontation .
