First Tiled Floor

After years of shying away from tiling floors (only you use the non slip flooring poop) and passing up on tiling people's floors when asked, I've bitten the bullet and done my first one ( relatives small kitchen floor) only a small one with cheap ceramics but I'm pleased with the outcome of my first attempt. Long way from being amazing work like most on here but I've got to start from somewhere

Just got to put the plinths back on the kitchen units then I'm all done...............that can wait until tomorrow night tho, I'm going for lie down :lol:

Have never been able to get on with knee pads, always used kneeling mats BUT if I do another floor il be getting a good pair

i cant get on with knee pads either they do a kneeling mat in screwfix that works well

your knees arnt to happy after a kitch floor ,omg try doing a 5000m2 floor then you will know pain,
pics please and get some good knee pads , trust me you wont regret it

I assume from your last comments you are not overly happy about it, it least you had the guts to post the pics - where / how could you have improved the finish?

For a first attempt at a floor I'm over the moon with it to be honest, obviously there is room for improvement just like anything

Give me a full bathroom refurb with non slip flooring rather than another floor any day of the week tho :smilewinkgrin:

Brick bond can be unforgiving eh, what you need to remember with brick bond is, the whole floor becomes interlocked to the same plain ( hope you follow) where as straight set allows the floor just to be tiled and follow the contours of the floor and would be less noticeable

The hardest part ( besides the constant kneeling, more so than usual ) was the level of the floor, but the slc sorted that out and made life a little easier

But as a first attempt ( albeit a small one :lol: ) floor is level and no lips................now where's my ice packs:smilewinkgrin::lol:
