first tiling job after course

hI all i'm tiling my kitchen floor on tuesady with ceramic tiles and just wanna check im doing it right.ok first i'm gonna take all tiles up as careful as poss so to leave the floor smooth and ready to tile.am i right in saying a rapid set with no primer is ok for ceramic on concrete.

I would prime first..as that floor will be dusty etc from taking the tiles up...........
Maybe you could take some pics for us to see the finished job......

If its your first job i wouldnt use rapid set then it will give you a bit more time to work with. Good luck

yea i thought the dust may be a problem.Iwill take pics. i've just come bk from the nett course and i have my kitchen floor and walls to do, downstairs toilet floor and my upstairs bathroom and 2 more floors for my mum to do before i go out charging people. I think that will be enough practice and i will take pics of all jobs and put on here.

good luck tile did you enjoy the course..? i was on it a few weeks got my first paying job last week for a friend who manufactures granite work tops & tiles its 36m2 walls & floor with 600x 400 travertine tiles aint finnished it yet as he puuled me off job on thursday do go & finnish a shop front with 300x300 marble tiles,got that finnished yesterday so its back to the bathroom tomorrow hopefuuly finnish it by tuesday.

Hi And yea loved the course was very fast paced tho hard to take it all in just glad i got all the notes to look back on.good to hear your doing well already. do you no what best tolls are for taking up tiles is it just a wide chisel and hammer.

I use a bosch sds with breaker action and don't forget to cover the kitchen units doors with heavy duty cardboard or hardboard otherwise you could be paying them more than earning.
