Fitting a shower enclosure

Hi,
Have you any recommendations on fitting a shower enclosure to the wall?

My preference is to fit the enclosure to the plaster wall and then tile to it on either side, as the tiles are a different size/type on the inside of the shower compared to the outside.

Is there any obvious reason why this should not be done or should you always fit the encosure to tiles?

It seems a simpler solution than guessing where to stop/start my differing tiles and then finding my enclosure overlapping one or both of the different tiles and not looking 'right'.

Not an expert as I have fitted only a few of these and I would advise waiting for different points of view on this forum but I think fitting the enclosure to the plaster wall before tiling would give you some issues over water leakage. Definitely not something I would think about doing.

I can't see that it matters too much, as you'll be running silicon down it anyway (although the silicon will have to be visible this way).

Just work out where the enclosure is going to sit then put a vertical line with your level and come off either side with the diff tiles i wouldnt cut to your shower enclosure its a much better finish and seal if is ontop of the tiles.

As above, tile first, mark holes, bead of silcone on back of shower frame and screw to wall.
